Communality & Intentional Community
The Dawal collective
Dawal is an ongoing experiment in communality. Most often, you will be sharing the buildings with others, and use of work and living spaces is to be negotiated.
Dawal has no staff and no cleaners. It’s up to everyone to contribute towards the upkeep of the building and space, spending 30 minutes a day (or more!) cleaning and giving care to the space where it’s needed.
Please care for it as you would your own home and leave it in the best possible state for the next person. Behind the kitchen, there are cleaning products, material and a laundry machine for washing your sheets before leaving.
Don’t know what to do? Here you can find some ideas:
- collect, stack, or chop firewood
- clean the dishes
- feed the chickens
- clean the chicken coop
- take out the trash
- clean the toilets or bathrooms
- vacuum the common areas
- dust the common areas
- do some gardening work
- whatever you think needs doing, do it!
We have some seasonal work during which we can use more hands. This includes e.g. cherry picking in summer, collecting and processing chestnuts and quinces in autumn.
